Squarespace Installation

How to display your popup on a Squarespace site.

First, copy your popup's unique script tag to the clipboard:

Oops, you need to click Test & Install > Install Popup
in Seth's Popup Creator to see your script tag here.

This is your actual script tag, not a sample!

Second, choose one of these installation techniques:

  • If you want your popup to appear when a visitor opens any page on your site, then jump to Standard InstallationThis is the default, recommended installation technique.

-or-

  • If you only want your popup to appear when a visitor opens a specific page (or a few specific pages), then jump to Individual Page Installation.

Standard Installation

This is the site-wide installation. The popup will be visible/available to every page on your site.

  1. Sign in to your Squarespace site and open the Home menu in the left panel.
  2. Click Settings > Advanced > Code Injection.
  3. Paste your popup script tag into the Footer text area.
Note: If your Squarespace site has a Cover Page that you want the popup to appear on, then paste your popup script tag into the Header text area instead.
  4. Click Save.

Your popup is installed! Remember, you only need to install your popup script tag once. Any changes you make to the popup will automatically be displayed on your website. Cool, huh?

Next:

  • If you want to display your popup when the visitor clicks a link or a button, then jump to Click-to-Launch Installation.
  • If you're ready to test the popup on your website, then jump to How to Test.

Individual Page Installation

  1. Sign in to your Squarespace site and open the Home menu in the left panel.
  2. Click Pages and then click the specific page that should display the popup.
  3. Add a Code Block to the bottom of the page. (See the Squarespace Help topic Using the Code Block for a complete explanation.) Some Squarespace pages, such as Cover Pages, don't allow you to add Code Blocks to them. If you can't add a Code Block, use the Standard Installation instead.
  4. Remove any sample code from the Code Block and make sure the drop-down menu in the upper right is set to HTML.
  5. Paste your popup script tag into it.
  6. Click Save.

Your popup is installed! Remember, you only need to install your popup script tag once. Any changes you make to the popup will automatically be displayed on your website. Cool, huh?
